AR Refurried: Where Craft Carries Memory — and Vintage Fur Finds a Future

AR Refurried: Where Craft Carries Memory — and Vintage Fur Finds a Future

There are places where time feels tangible — not as nostalgia, but as material.

AR Refurried is one of them. An atelier where “new” is never created by erasing the past, but by honoring it. Where garments are not replaced, but reimagined. At the heart of this philosophy stand Georgia Richter and Patrick Adam — a duo whose work proves that true luxury lies in preservation, precision, and purpose.

Their story begins at one of Vienna's most renowned fur houses, where both learned their craft at the highest level. Patrick Adam trained and worked there as a master furrier, while Georgia Richter joined as a pattern maker and designer.

Surrounded by decades of savoir-faire, discipline, and uncompromising quality, they developed not only technical excellence, but a shared understanding of fur as a living material — one that demands respect, sensitivity, and vision.

What they carried with them from Vienna was more than expertise. It was a belief: that craftsmanship should be felt rather than explained.

From Tradition to Independence

Driven by the desire to work more consciously and creatively, Georgia and Patrick took the step into independence. They founded AR Refurried with a clear mission — to work exclusively with existing fur pieces and give them new life through thoughtful transformation.

Based in Tulln, Lower Austria, they established their own atelier, where every piece is still handled by hand, from the first assessment to the final stitch. Here, vintage coats, jackets, and heirloom pieces are carefully disassembled, restored, re-cut, and reassembled into contemporary silhouettes. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is outsourced. Every garment passes through their hands — many of them multiple times.

As their reputation grew, so did their presence, expanding beyond their workshop roots while remaining deeply connected to their craft. AR Refurried today stands for a new form of luxury: quiet, intentional, and enduring.

The Art of Re-fur-ing

AR Refurried does not disguise the past — it refines it. The process is meticulous: evaluating the fur's condition, understanding its structure and fall, developing new proportions, and only then beginning the transformation. Each piece can take dozens of hours to complete, resulting in garments that feel modern yet unmistakably substantial.

Classic volumes become effortless lines. Heirloom pelts are reshaped into coats and jackets designed for today — without denying where they come from. It is sustainability without slogans, and craftsmanship without spectacle.

In a world of fast solutions and synthetic shortcuts, AR Refurried chooses patience, material integrity, and longevity.

Maison Rivée meets AR Refurried — Drop 4

At Maison Rivée, vintage has never been about nostalgia. It is about selection, responsibility, and character. That is why our collaboration with AR Refurried feels less like a partnership and more like a shared philosophy.

With Drop 4, we are proud to present — for the first time — a curated selection of fur pieces from the AR Refurried archive, chosen in collaboration with Maison Rivée. These garments embody the essence of their work: authentic, masterfully crafted, and quietly powerful.

They are pieces with a past — and a future.
And a reminder that true luxury is not what is newly made, but what is worth keeping.
